Why Employee Wellbeing

Wellness in the workplace as has three components.

  1. Health and Safety: Driven by government policy and statutory requirements and implemented via HR in day to day business.
  2. Managing Ill Health: 'Reactive' interventions that will drain resources for all companies, yet a very real cost and one that will never go-away completely.
  3. Prevention and Promotion: Interventions designed to prevent and promote healthy activity.

In the 2008, government commissioned, PriceWaterHouseCoopers study, it was found that for everyone £1 a business spends on a wellbeing programme, the return on investment can vary from £2.67 to £34 per person.
